I was the bridegroom, taking the world into my arms.”

Sorry to be MIA, but I have been totally out of commission this week. It is not “over” for me yet, but I sure have felt like it was over!
What is it they say about life? I remember hearing something like, “if you don’t slow down on your own, life will throw something at you and make you slow down.”
As I lie here nursing my aching body, I am thinking about what happens to me during the holiday season. Life seems to move faster than normal, the days grow shorter and darker, and I fail to care of myself.
My free time seems so limited, and I lose focus of what is needed to keep me in a state of flow and functioning well. Despite the fact that I know I need to take care of myself physically and spiritually, I get caught up in the rush of the season and let go of the things I need to pay attention to.
No exercise, solitude, walks, spiritual reading or other things needed to nourish my body and soul.
Disaster follows in some form or other . . .
OK, I get it, what about you?
What is it you need to do to care for yourself during the holidays? Tis the season that challenges even those who are prepared as they can possibly be. Their shopping was completed in July, the presents are all wrapped, the is tree trimmed, cards are sent, and the house fully decorated, etc.
Remember, being kind and taking care of yourself is not selfish. Caring for yourself not only benefits you but also yours. Enjoy each moment to the fullest.
I wish you a wonderful holiday season, one of pure “amazement”!
